Victorian 10kt Engagement Ring, mourning ring, wedding ring, Black Stone, Size 11 – unisex, 3.59 grams. Late 1800’s, early 1900’s. It is 7.6mm wide at top center and tapers down to 2.2mm at back. The stone is a black 4mm black glass (obsidian) bead – it has some wear. It is signed with an arrow facing in and an image in the center and then another arrow on the other side. I do not know who that maker is. The undercarriage is open beneath the stone and this is likely not the original stone – you see a purple/red worn stone at the back – tests as garnet but could be glass as it is very hard to get to to test properly. The ring sits appx. 8.5mm high at the center. The ring is very slightly out of shape in one section but can be worn as it – it is an over 100 year old ring. There are some marks on the inside of the band I believe when the ring was tested prior to my purchasing it. It is possible this is a 12kt gold ring as it acid tests strong at 10kt and reacts somewhat at 14kt and in older pieces it was more common to use 12kt than now. It is in good condition but the stone is in fair condition. This came from a PA estate lot. See photos. (Lot Loc. W.4.2118.C.10X1 – LD 7/22/18).

We carry mostly vintage jewelry across all themes in my stores and listings. We have our own store and are and have been known as stampshopgirl in Ebay and have been since I think 2003. At one point we had a gift shop/rubber stamping store and switched over to vintage jewelry about six years ago on a full time basis, which also including taking and completing gemology classes as well as jewelry appraisal studies. We carry limited other vintage items and am trying to change our presence to marias vintage and estate treasures. You may see both names until the migration is complete. You can find us on pinterest where all ebay items and other venues are categorized – mariasvinta0654.
WE DO NOT STORE FINE METALS AND GEMSTONES ON PREMISES. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT QUESTIONS MAY NOT BE ABLE TO BE ANSWERED IMMEDIATELY. THANK YOU.
Thank you for stopping by, mariasvintage.
