Vintage Art Deco Sterling Marcasite Clasp, Faux Pearl Estate Necklace. This has graduated faux pearls in 6mm to 12mm – the pearls are a heavy perhaps glass type rather than the lighter plastic. The clasp is a rectangular tiered art deco sterling clasp with a filigree finish and marcasite accents. The necklace is 16″ long. It is in very good condition for it’s age which is believed to be the late 1930’s into the 1940’s. The clasp just sells this piece. Great for weddings and proms and anywhere calling for pearls. I’d classify this piece as very good condition given the age and condition of the pearls. Only minimal wear but could stand a light cleaning. This came from a PA estate where the pieces ranged from the very early 1900’s to the 1970’s – some very nice quality high end pieces to very nice costume pieces. See photos. Lot. Loc.
