Antique Necklace- late 1800s to early 1900s – Black Oval Cameo-Like stone with 6 spots for six marcasite accents (2 missing) and then six additional links of a round filigree base with two raised leaves on each and a spot in each for a marcasite stone – all those are missing. I normally replace these when they are a glued application but due to the vintage of this piece I will not do that as it should be properly restored. Everything appears to have been gold tone but over the 100 plus years of it’s age the finish is now the typical vintage – the chain part is a brassy gold tone. It is 15″ long. The black stone appears to be glass, it is bezel set with a sawtooth type setting with a thicker beaded effect frame that sits lower than the bezel. This is a great piece and came from a PA. estate sale where there were items from the mid 1800s into the early 1900’s. There were several mourning pieces and I am not sure if this is a mourning piece due to the black stone or just a necklace. It is in good condition other than the typical dull patina and missing marcasite pieces. See photos.
