Vintage Australian Trench Art Coin Ring, Florin Coin, WWII, sz. 10, 4.93 gr. Australian Coin

Vintage 1940’s Trench Art Coin Ring – Australian Florin Coin.  Georgivs VI D: G: BR: OMN: REX F: D: IND: IMP – cannot read age though I do see possibly an 8 guessing 1948.  This is smooth on the face of the rind and rounded. It is appx 6.5 mm wide.  No year is visible on this one, however since it is .500 and refers to King George VI, with the visible details, it would date to the end to the end of World War II or slightly after.  Made from a .500 silver coin. Sterling silver is 925 content, this silver content is 500. (Lot. Loc. W.1.7-02.417.G2.1X1) (LD 3/27/17)

TRENCH ART refers to items made during the war sometimes locals would make them and sell them to solders or solders would do it themselves – it comes  from common items such as coins, local nut shells, bullets.
